St. David's home in Forfar, Angus.

St Davids care home Forfar

Facilities

Lounge

This room has comfortable armchairs for people to relax in, chat with friends and enjoy mixing with other residents. This is reminiscent of an ordinary front room of any stone villa. It features two seating areas one for T.V. viewing and one for watching the world pass by. The lounge also has a piano which is used for concerts and church services.

Dining Room

This is the main room for eating meals - though you are able to eat anywhere in the home. This room has recently been refurbished and the furnishings and colour schemes were chosen by residents and staff. This room has views across the back garden.

Sun Lounge

This is sited at the rear of the home and has large windows giving views across the garden so that people can sit and watch the chickens and wild birds. There are games such as dominoes/cards available here along with a selection of magazines. It is a lovely spot to enjoy a cup of tea/coffee with friends or on your own. This room also has a collection of toys for younger visitors so that they don't get bored.

Bedrooms

We currently have 16 bedrooms, the majority of which have en-suite facilities. Each room is fully furnished, but residents are able to bring in individual items to personalise rooms.

( We have plans to upgrade the house so that all bedrooms to include en-suite facilities, a lift, an additional 6 bedrooms and a cinema ).

Nurse Call and Security

Each room has a staff call system linked to two cantral panels. The system is easily operated using a bell cord. Each room also has a sensor for night time use which can alert staff to resident movement during the night.

We have an open door policy which allows residents and visitors easy access. The entrance doors are alarmed and these alert staff to someone coming in or out of the building.

Other facilities include a library area, hairdressing salon and informal seating areas throughout the home.
